Swarms of jellyfish have been clogging the beaches in Israel as of late. It is estimated that around 200 million (!) gelatinous stinging machines are coming to shore, injuring bathers, and littering the sand. Furthermore, because the electricity plant uses sea water to cool its turbines, jellyfish are also jamming machinery and causing power failures. As per usual, this is just another sign that the state of our oceans is abysmal at best.
